2024 KSEA NMSC Chicagoland practice (04/01/2024)

To all NMSC participants, parents, and guardians,

I want to express my gratitude for your participation in this competition. Regardless of the outcome, you should feel immense pride in the fact that you have taken on this challenge, unlike any other.

This year's Math exam will be a unique combination of paper and computer. (Please note that the physics exam will be paper-based only.) This means that you will receive a paper exam and input your answers on a computer device such as a laptop, iPad, Galaxy Tab, or Chromebook. We will have an extension cord for a room. However, your power cord may not be long enough to connect your device, make sure you bring your own extension cord just in case.

To help you prepare at home, please follow these steps:

1) Visit the website https://nmsc.ksea.org/sample-tests and download the corresponding grade example. Print it out for practice.

2) For the math exam, no calculators will be allowed. All necessary formulas will be provided on the day of the exam.

3) Access the Google form by clicking on the following link: (<--click here). Fill in the first part of the form with your email, name, grade, and school name.

4) The exam consists of two parts. The first part is multiple choice, consisting of 20 questions. The second part is free writing, with 5 questions to answer.

5) Select the answer you believe is correct for each multiple-choice question and write a complete answer for the free writing questions.

6) Feel free to double-check your answers as many times as you want before clicking "Submit".

7) Once you have submitted your answers, please note that they cannot be changed in the real exam. However, remember that this practice is for your benefit, so feel free to practice as many times as you wish.
